What You Should Know About Xuron(r) Tools
Jewelers have been using Xuron(r) pliers and cutters for decades but you may have only recently heard of these precision tools. So, what do you need to know about this line of superior pliers and cutters?
Xuron Corp. has a proven history of quality and innovation
Founded in 1971, Xuron Corp. began with one tool that was designed specifically for cutting component lead wires on printed circuit boards. To meet the needs of new markets and applications, new tools were developed and today Xuron Corp. manufactures over 100 different types of cutters, pliers and specialty tools. One constant through the years is the commitment to producing a quality product that delivers excellent results and value.
Micro-Shear(r) Flush Cutting Technology
Xuron Corp. is the original inventor of the Micro-Shear(r) blade by-pass cutting technology. What does this mean? A traditional wire cutter's blades meet sharp edge to sharp edge. The micro-shear(r) blades slightly bypass. This produces a cleaner, flatter cut and extends the life of the blades.
Xuron Jewelry Tools: Cutters & Pliers
Micro-Shear(r) Flush Cutter An essential tool for bead stringers. This cutter is perfect for flexible stranded beading cable as well as soft wire up to an 18 ga. (1 mm). The slim profile of the cutter head means you can reach into small spaces and cut close to a clasp, bead or other finding. |
||
Maxi-Shear(tm) Flush Cutter A heavy-duty cutter that is ideal for metalsmiths, chainmaillers and those working with larger soft wires/metals up to 12 ga. (2 mm). Handles are approximately 6" (152 mm) long and shaped to fit well in larger to medium size hands to provide good cutting leverage. This is a perfect 'go-to' cutter and the bright handle will always be visible on your work bench! |
||
Double Flush Cutter |
||
Hard Wire Cutter The only tool you should use to cut memory wire, steel or hard wire. The cutting blades of this tool completely bypass, causing them to break the wire rather than squeeze it in order to cut. As a result, both the cut and cut-off pieces of wire are nearly perfectly flat. Works equally well on both round and flat memory wire. Cuts hard wire up to 18 ga. (1 mm) and soft wire up to 12 ga. (2 mm). |
||
Metal Shears Smooth scissor blades (non-serrated), return spring and handles without finger loops make this a comfortable and easy to use metal shear. Excellent for metalsmiths cutting sheets of soft metal up to 20 ga. (0.8 mm) thick. The blades also cut jump rings leaving a flat end on both sides of the wire ring. |
||
Tweezer Nose(tm) Pliers The blades are fine, precise, and match perfectly in alignment, size and shape. Capable of picking up and holding delicate parts, while strong enough to form and bend wire. Great for tucking-in small wires. |
